Bespoke Timber Windows
Zakuna specialise in manufacturing non-standard bespoke windows for architectural projects of new build and renovation, residential and commercial projects with extra-large glazed areas.
Our timber windows are made-to-measure and can be fitted with a complete range of opening and closing solutions. Different units can be combined to create more complex constructions such as curtain walling, screens, patios, bays and bows, all created to your exact specifications.
We can provide a wide range of curved work designs, including arch top, internal sash arches (to top and bottom rails) as well as simple arch linings.
Bespoke Timber Windows are made to measure and can be made in a choice of configurations to suit your requirements. Fire escape windows can be configured to match your design, and to comply with Fire Safety Regulations Part B1.

Made to Measure Sizes
Our windows are made to your exact sizes.
Sash width: 280mm - 1600mm, sash height: 350mm -2450mm.
Direct glazed width: 250mm - 3500mm, height: 250mm - 2500mm.
Materials, Finishes & Options
Only engineered timber is used to manufacture our windows. This provides superior strength, stability and a knot-free finish - qualities for which our products are renowned. Standard woods are Pine (finger-joint or clear faced), Oak, Larch and Meranti. Other species of traditional (Eucalyptus, Mahogany) or exotic (Hemlock, Oregon, White Saraya) timber available upon request. All timbers are carefully selected and treated.
Windows are fully factory finished using the highest quality ecological spray applied, water based, micro-porous finishing system. The finishing coat is elastic and moves together with the wood to let the wood breathe.
A wide variety of RAL and stain colour options are available to meet our customers’ requirements. All of our paints and lacquers are environmentally friendly, ecologically clean and harmless to the environment.
We offer a choice of double and triple glazed units up to 42mm width, with different performance characteristics – energy saving, solar control, noise reduction, safety, fire resistance. A choice of glazing bar styles can enhance the design, either face fixed and/or set within the glass unit. A colour choice of spacer bars and thermo spacers bars can be chosen to match the wood finishes. Our range of modern obscure glass patterns will add a good level of privacy for any room.
Our modern handles are elegantly designed in a wide range of colour finishes with locking options.
A colour choice of gaskets are available to blend discreetly with the window finish.
A choice of trickle vents, in frame or sash, glazed in vents, and acoustic vents can be specified to comply with building requirements.
Cill extensions can be incorporated to our timber windows with projecting sizes: 40mm (134mm overall), 60mm (154mm overall), 80mm (174mm overall). External aluminium cill plates and drip rails can be specified for additional protection from the element. Standard colours: white, brown, silver or any RAL colour upon request.
Sizes
Our standard door leaf sizes range between: 1981mm - 2500mm height, 626mm -1026mm width. Made to Measure door leaf sizes are up to: 2900mm height, 1300mm width. Please ask for more details: info@zakuna.co.uk
Fire Door Options
Zakuna doors can be manufactured with FD30 or FD60 cores. As well as smoke seals, thresholds and intumescent strips installed within the door where necessary. If you require a self-closer for FD30S and FD60S, our hidden hinges can be upgraded to have a hidden self-closing mechanism within the frame and door, with no visible difference to our standard hidden hinges.
Door leaf thickness for Fire Rated Doors are 45mm for FD30, 52mm for FD60.
Installation
Our Pre-hung Interior Door Sets are easy to install, reducing labour, time and cost on site, in comparison to tradition methods. Door leaves, frames, linings and architraves are unassembled and supplied loose for on-site assembly. Installation instructions, fittings and fixings are provided. Our recommended consumables can be supplied as an option. We also offer a full installation service.
From Design to Installation
We work closely with customers, interior designers, architects and contractors to provide a fully bespoke service. This includes consultation to determine the design and specification to suit your requirements and budget. Our aim is to make the entire process as simple and practical as possible, offering a site survey and solutions to the challenges presented by complex design issues, building regulations and installation systems. Our windows bear the CE mark and correspond with the highest standards for thermal efficiency, weathering, acoustic performance and security. Environmentally friendly materials are used in manufacturing including FCS certified timber and water based paints for finishing.
All windows are covered by warranty for up to 10 years from the date of delivery. Full details of window specification can be supplied on request.
