Challenger 'Zig-Zag' Staircase - Reigate, Surrey

The owners of this luxurious home in Reigate wanted to create a dramatic staircase with contemporary styling. The design perfectly suits the internal space of this property and looks quite striking. Our Challenger Staircase with its 'Zig-Zag' styling, is cleverly designed with the treads fixed neatly between the slim black steel strings.

Chunky 100mm Oak treads are perfectly matched to the style and colour of the owner's hallway flooring. This three flight stairway with open risers and winders, looks great from all angles and all floors.

The Zig-Zag effect is enhanced by the clean lines of the frameless glass balustrades. The strings are doubled up to sandwich the glass balustrade with concealed glass fixings to enhance the visual effect. Balustrades are Toughened and Laminated Glass 17.5mm (8+8mm) to comply with building regulations.

Round stainless steel handrails are fitted to the wall, and to some sides of the balustrade to complete the design.

An internal glass screen between the hallway and the lounge, nicely captures a section of the stairs, displaying the architectural lines of zig-zag strings.

A suite of Flush Plana P102 Nero Ash Internal Door were also installed throughout, matching the black steel strings of the stairs.
