The team at Concept Eight Architects in Weybridge continue to surpass themselves with their ability to crvative designs. The moment you cross the threshold into the heart of the home it becomes apparent the level of work that has been undertaken to give the home this wonderful open plan space on the ground floormaximising the space on the upper floors.

Dutchman Staircase

Concept Eight specified a central string staircase. The Dutchman staircase was an obvious choice in this space as it turned a crossed each flight rising onto the second floor. The design is really striking and has been compared to a ‘tetris’ staircase.

40mm Stained Oak treads to match the internal doors were selected with a matching square profile handrail on top of the frameless glass balustrade. The addition of the LED lights under each tread highlights the profile of the staircase.

This staircase was short listed in the Build-it Awards 2020 Best Joinery Product.

Interior Door Sets

Our horizontally veneered flush fire rated door sets were chosen for this design Flush Plana P102, stained to match the stairs and finished with a Chrome Metro Handle. All the walls were venetian plastered in a light grey which against the stained door frame is in another class.

Entrance Door

Choosing an entrance door that is in keeping with the more traditional façade whilst giving an insight of the treasure held within was always going to be a challenge. The client chose an Optimum Aluminium double door with sidelights and sandblasted glass 7211 for a bold and stunning look.
